Man on Fire
Yesterday I saw a preview of a new Amitabh movie. After watching it, it was clear that the movie is "inspired" by Man On Fire. I knew the story of this Denzel movie.I had not seen Man on Fire then.
Today they are showing it on cable and I am watching it as I write this post.
This has to be the most cold-blooded revenge movie I have ever seen and I have seen quite a few. I am sure the Big B version is not so violent.

Man on Fire was a fairly mediocre movie. It's sad to see Denzel Washington in such movies. It's even sadder to see that it meritted a Bollywood remake.
Bollywood will try its hand at anything. An industry where many of the movies have the sole purpose of turning black underworld money to white and which does not care if the film that they make is a hit or not is not going to worry if the remake is of a hit movie or not.
Amitabh shouting "Yaahh...AAHhH" while taking on bullets and firing at evil gangsters when they kidnap a child in the backdrop of a car that explodes and shoots up 15 feet in air is bound to be a hit.
Amitabh in fact praised the film-maker for making a film with a 65 year old as the central character.
